Colts’ select Mizzou OT Armand Membou in Daniel Jeremiah’s NFL Mock Draft 2.0

Posted on April 22, 2025

According to NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, the Indianapolis Colts are projected to select Mizzou offensive tackle Armand Membou in his latest 2025 NFL mock draft:

Jeremiah previously had the Colts selecting Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron in his mock draft 1.0 (who fell a bit here to the Cincinnati Bengals at #17), but Indianapolis surprisingly opts for offensive line help here.

The 6’3,” 332 pound junior offensive tackle had 30 starts during his 3-year collegiate career at Mizzou—including 12 starts at right tackle this past season when he earned 2nd-Team All-SEC honors. Membou lacks ideal NFL offensive tackle size but makes up for it with “elite body control and composed quickness.”

Much to the dismay of the Horseshoe faithful, prized Penn State tight end Tyler Warren went much higher than #14—as he was snatched by the New York Jets with the 7th overall pick.

In my opinion, Membou looks like a fine right tackle prospect, but the Colts selected Matt Goncalves last year in the 3rd round, and the rookie held his own filling in for Braden Smith.

While Smith’s future with the Colts remains a bit uncertain due to a $19.75 million cap hit in 2025, and having missed the team’s last few games because of undisclosed personal reasons, the Colts already appear to have his heir apparent with Goncalves—whether it’s next season or shortly thereafter.

Saying, “Hey, Membou can immediately start at right tackle,” isn’t really a great sales pitch right now for Colts fans (or perhaps most importantly, the right move to meaningfully improve this somewhat depleted roster).

The Colts should potentially replace free agent starter Will Fries via other more cost/capital efficient means. It would be a hard sell for Colts fans to have them endure the disappointing season they just endured, so the Colts can bring in a starting right guard in the first round, when the team desperately lacks elite talent at premium positions already.

No offense to Jeremiah here, who typically does very good work, but I just don’t see it, at all.
