While nothing has been officially announced by the team itself, the rumors are running high and Williams also seemed to echo the thought through his cryptic tweets.
Williams has been playing for the Detroit Lions since 2022 after the team selected him as the 12th pick in the very first round of the NFL draft. Before the league, the 24-year-old played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Alabama Crimson Tide. In the 2024 NFL season, Williams managed a total of 58 receptions for 1,001 yards, scoring seven touchdowns for the Detroit Lions.

Despite the team not announcing anything officially, Williams seems to have already exited the team in his mind. The wide receiver has unfollowed the Detroit Lions on his Instagram and also posted a couple of messages about loyalty, which led to his followers scratching their heads.
Jameson Williams will be eager to perform better with another team in the NFL for the upcoming season. With Williams on their side in the previous year, the Detroit Lions finished at the top of the NFC North after winning 15 games and losing two. The Lions made it to the NFL Divisional Round to take on the Washington Commanders, but lost 45-31, and were eventually shown the door out of the tournament.
