Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks are entering a pivotal offseason as they look to reshape their roster following an early NCAA Tournament exit.
Kansas was eliminated in the first round by John Calipari’s Arkansas Razorbacks, prompting a need for change heading into next season.
The Jayhawks will be without key veterans Hunter Dickinson and KJ Adams, both of whom have exhausted their college eligibility. Additionally, AJ Storr—an important part of Kansas’ rotation—has entered the transfer portal, leaving another hole to fill.
Tre White’s college journey has come full circle. Originally a member of the 2022 recruiting class, White initially committed to Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks before ultimately signing with the USC Trojans.
Since then, he’s taken a winding path through college basketball, spending time with three different programs: USC, Louisville, and most recently, Illinois.
During the 2024 season at Illinois, Tre White posted averages of 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. According to ESPN, he started 31 of the 32 games he played for the Fighting Illini and has been in the starting lineup for 86 of his 94 career games — an impressive accomplishment for a player who has transferred multiple times.
