Insider Hints at Jets Sending Starter Packing in Draft Day Trade

Posted on April 24, 2025

Jets’ new regime called out by Steelers great for offseason move: ‘That’s lame to me’

Speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week, Aaron Rodgers made it clear he wasn’t happy with the way his split with the Jets went down.

The four-time NFL MVP accused new coach Aaron Glenn of wasting his time and disrespecting him in a brief meeting in which the Jets informed Rodgers they were moving on from him.

Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward didn’t like the sound of how that meeting went down. This week, he took a shot at the Jets on his podcast, “Not Just Football with Cam Heyward.”

“How do we get excited for a guy losing his job and making him fly across the country just to do it in person? I’ve seen multiple times where GMs call up an agent,” Heyward said. “I just don’t get that. That’s lame to me. I would be even mad if I was getting cut from the Pittsburgh Steelers and they made me drive down to the facility. They could’ve just left me at home and not made me stick through traffic. I don’t really vibe with that.”

Rodgers, who said he flew to New Jersey for the meeting, said he was surprised by the brevity and awkwardness of the meeting.

“And I said — well, I was kind of shocked. Not shocked because I didn’t think that was a possibility. Listen, if they want to move on it’s fine. But shocked because I just flew across country and you could have told me this on the phone if we’re not even going to have a conversation.”

Rodgers, who is still a free agent, has been linked to the Steeler
