Eagles brass shed on Dallas Goedert

Posted on April 28, 2025

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to repeat as Super Bowl Champions following their 40-22 defeat of the Kansas City Chiefs in February. However, if Philadelphia pulls off the feat, it’ll be with a very different-looking team than last season.

The Eagles have had high turnover since winning the Super Bowl, especially on the defensive side of the ball, and one of the offesnse’s key pieces still has a fluid situation.

Star tight end Dallas Goedert is entering the final year of his contract, leading to speculation that a trade could be in the tight end’s near future. Head coach Nick Sirianni spoke about Goedert’s situation, but he didn’t exactly make a long-term commitment.

“Right now he’s on our football team,” Sirianni said, according to Pro Football Talk. “And obviously, Dallas Goedert has meant a lot to us. We’ll see how that plays out. He’s a heck of a football player, heck of a leader.

“Want to be able to have back as many guys as you possibly can, but that’s not the reality of the NFL. We’ll see what happens and how that happens, but of course you want everyone back.”

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman also spoke on things with Goedert, but he didn’t exactly spill any beans.

“Dallas is part of the team as we speak. Obviously, as we go forward, we’re going to continue to address things on this team and right now nothing further,” Roseman said.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Eagles look on the field next season following so much turnover from the reigning champions.
