There are two sides to the Dallas Goedert coin. On the one side? If the Philadelphia Eagles really wanted to replace Goedert, the team could have used one of its 10 draft picks over the weekend on a tight end. After all, this was perceived to be one of the deepest tight end classes in years. And yet the Eagles chose not to address the position, instead opting to roll with Goedert and Grant Calcaterra as their top two guys as offseason workouts continue on. On the other side? The organization still isn’t guaranteeing anything about Goedert’s future here. “Dallas is part of the team,” Eagles general manager Howie Roseman told the media at the NovaCare Complex after the final day of the draft. But … one senses … there’s a “but.” “Obviously,” Roseman continued, “as we go forward, we’re going to continue to address things on this team. Right now, nothing further.” The likelihood in terms of what happened over NFL Draft Weekend? Philly dangled Goedert, but had no takers. That doesn’t mean Philly won’t dangle him again. Goedert is 30 years old now and is entering the final year of his deal with the Eagles. He is looking for a new contract while Philadelphia is wishing to lower his over $11 million cap hit this season.
