Netflix Releases Highly Anticipated Documentary on Brandon Graham titled ” THE UNDERDOG “. To be released on 25th…

Posted on May 5, 2025

In an announcement that has stirred excitement throughout the football world, Netflix has officially revealed the release date for its next big sports documentary, “THE UNDERDOG,” spotlighting Philadelphia Eagles legend Brandon Graham. The feature-length film is set to premiere globally on May 25, 2025, and will delve deep into the journey of one of the NFL’s most beloved, resilient, and hard-hitting defensive stars.

The documentary aims to tell the untold story of Graham’s path from underappreciated prospect to Super Bowl hero, team captain, and cultural icon in Philadelphia.

“Brandon Graham is the definition of heart, grit, and perseverance,” said Netflix Sports Documentaries Executive Producer Rachel Nguyen. “His story isn’t just about football — it’s about refusing to quit, betting on yourself, and leading with joy and fire, no matter how many people count you out.”

From Doubt to Dominance

“THE UNDERDOG” begins in Detroit, Michigan, where Graham’s football career first took root. As a high school standout at Crockett Vocational Tech, he was often labeled undersized or “not elite enough” despite dominating every level of competition. That skepticism followed him to the University of Michigan, where he became a star but still faced questions about his NFL future.

The film captures the emotional turbulence of the 2010 NFL Draft, when Graham was selected 13th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles — a pick that was heavily criticized at the time.

“They said I was a bust before I even stepped on the field,” Graham says in the trailer. “That fueled everything.”

A Super Bowl Savior

After overcoming injuries early in his career, Graham eventually silenced his doubters with the defining moment of his career: the strip sack of Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII, sealing the Eagles’ first championship in franchise history.

That play, now immortalized in Eagles lore, is a centerpiece of the documentary — shown through exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, audio from the field, and emotional reactions from teammates, fans, and even former opponents.

Teammates like Fletcher Cox, Jason Kelce, and Lane Johnson appear throughout the documentary to reflect on Graham’s leadership and personality.

“He’s the heartbeat of our locker room,” Kelce says. “Nobody brings more energy, more positivity — and more realness — than B.G.”
