The NY Jets managed to bring together an unusually heralded 2025 NFL Draft Class in the first year of Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey in charge. First-round right tackle Armand Membou, second-round tight end Mason Taylor, and third-round cornerback Azareye’h Thomas all figure to be high-end starters.
Even though Mel Kiper had some puzzling thoughts on the overall class due to some weird Day 3 picks, everyone was complimentary of what the Jets did on the first two days of the Draft. One analyst in particular thinks Glenn and Mougey both hit quite a few home runs.ESPN’s Matt Miller listed three different Jets selections among his top 100 best picks in the 2025 Draft. Taylor came in the highest of any new Jets player at No. 16 overall, while Membou and Thomas clocked in at a very respectable 19th and 24th overall, respectively.The Jets were the only team to have three of Miller’s top 25 picks on the ledger. This well-rounded class could be what ends up setting the stage for Glenn and Mougey to be the combination of leaders who finally end up turning this team around.

Taylor may have some issues as a blocker, but Miller is one of many who project that son of Hall of Fame pass rusher Jason Taylor will contribute to the Jets early in his career.Membous was identified as an “ascending player with elite physical tools” by Miller, which is likely why the Jets used such a premium pick on him. Membou and Olu Fashanu should give the Jets a pair of tackles they don’t have to worry about for the next decade.Miller said that he imagined Thomas as a possible first-round pick after the Senior Bowl, though some poor testing and concerns about his speed dropped him to the second-round conversation. Next to no one had Thomas available at No. 73 overall, making him both a great value pick and a possible No. 2 cornerback of the future.Time will tell if these picks end up hitting, but it appears as though the Jets may have peeled the Joe Douglas Band-Aid off quite effectively as they try to move forward in their new era
