The Pittsburgh Steelers possess a first-round evaluation of Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette insider Gerry Dulac. Dulac, speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, mentioned that the Steelers have a first-round evaluation for Dart and genuinely appreciate Shedeur Sanders, indicating that one of the quarterbacks might be chosen by the team at No. 21.
“I’ll let you know, Rich, that they have a first-round ranking for Jaxson Dart, and they are quite fond of Shedeur Sanders.” Regardless of any post that suggested he had a bad meeting, it did not go well. Nothing could be more opposite from the truth. They are fond of the guy. “They had an excellent meeting with him,” Dulac stated.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan were absent from Dart’s pro day in Oxford, making this their initial interaction. The team dispatched Assistant General Manager Andy Weidl, Scout Ike Taylor, and Wide Receivers Coach Zach Azzanni.
Nonetheless, he did attend a pre-draft visit, and the team observed him at the Senior Bowl. There are points of connection for the Steelers and Dart during the entire process.
During his college career, Dart passed for more than 7000 yards, achieved 52 touchdowns, and recorded 11 interceptions at both Ole Miss and USC. His courage quickly garnered him a few fans throughout the league as well.
Dart excelled with the Ole Miss Rebels this season, passing for over 4000 yards and guiding Ole Miss to a close playoff opportunity. But how soon will Dart depart? That question lingers, and should the Steelers have a strong preference for him, they could face a choice on the initial day of the NFL Draft.
