Amanda Balionis is set to once again feature prominently in CBS’s coverage of the PGA Tour, with the upcoming stop being the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. Balionis, who has established herself as a key figure in golf broadcasting, will continue her role as CBS’s primary interviewer for the PGA Tour. She was last seen at the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club, where her interviews included a conversation with eventual champion Cam Davis.

Balionis is hitting the road again, sharing on Instagram her excitement for the next trip to Illinois. She posted a photo with her team, captioning it: “That is a wrap from Detroit with the best traveling circus, see ya in Silvis, Illinois squad!”

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy, who was once rumored to have a romantic connection with Balionis, will not be competing at the John Deere Classic. McIlroy, who recently decided to call off his planned divorce from wife Erica Stoll, last competed in the U.S. Open, which ended in disappointment for the Northern Irish golfer.

At Pinehurst No. 2, McIlroy was on the verge of his first major championship win in nearly a decade, leading Bryson DeChambeau by two shots with just five holes remaining. However, he faltered, bogeying three of his final four holes, and ultimately lost the lead. He missed two crucial short putts on the 15th and 18th holes, marking the first time this season he missed a putt inside three feet at the 15th hole, having previously made all 496 attempts from that distance.

Another missed short putt on his final hole sealed his fate, and DeChambeau emerged victorious. McIlroy, clearly disheartened, left North Carolina without attending post-round media duties. He later broke his silence with a statement, announcing a break from competition to regroup before returning for the Scottish Open on July 11.

In his social media statement, McIlroy congratulated DeChambeau, calling him “a worthy champion and exactly what professional golf needs right now.” He also stated: “I’m going to take a few weeks away from the game to process everything and build myself back up for my defense of the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open at Royal Troon.”

As the PGA Tour continues, Amanda Balionis will be a familiar face for fans, bringing her expertise and charm to the coverage of the John Deere Classic, while Rory McIlroy prepares for his return to competition

in Scotland.
