FRISCO – The folks who thought that the Dallas Cowboys had somehow prioritized Amari Cooper on their receiver wish list were … um …

Really, really wrong.

The Cowboys know who Amari was. They know who he is. He remains a “star” in name only and is seen now by the NFL has a flawed JAG.

Dallas – which traded for George Pickens while some were busy thinking Amari eas being considered alongside him (he wasn’t) – has wisely moved on.

Now what?

The Kansas City Chiefs have eliminated the Buffalo Bills from the playoffs in four of the last five seasons. Needless to say, Josh Allen and the rest of Buffalo are sick and tired of the reigning AFC champions.

But the Chiefs have the opportunity to continue to pester the Bills in free agency.

One of the biggest names that has not yet been signed to a team is Cooper, who was trade-dumped by Dallas two years ago and then traded by the Cleveland Browns to the Bills halfway through the 2024 season.

The Browns washed their hands of Cooper. The Bills did the same.

Now comes gossip that KC might be interested.

Could a team like the Chiefs make a move on the five-time Pro Bowler. We have no idea why they would … but the rumors are out there.

With Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy on the roster, why do they need the erratic Cooper who totaled just 547 yards in 2024?

There is this and only this: KC does not need Cooper. But he should be begging to join the Chiefs. Not even Josh Allen could resurrect his career in Buffalo, but if there is 1 quarterback who can?

That would be the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes.

We say the rumors are bogus. But if we were Amari? We might be the ones stirring up the rumors.
