She has a tremendous coaching skills I must say!! Indiana fever coach says the team failed not because of her but the following reasons…
Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides took a lot of heat for how she utilized Caitlin Clark against the Chicago Sky. Clark, the NCAA’s most prolific shooter, wasn’t taking shots when the Fever desperately needed to score.
During the Fever’s 88-87 loss to the Sky on Sunday, Clark took just two shots during the final seven minutes of the matchup, during which Chicago closed the gap.
Speaking to reporters on June 25, Sides addressed Clark not taking the game into her own hands.
“I think sometimes she’s being a little too unselfish,” Sides said. At the same time, Sides applauded Clark’s 13 assists against Chicago, which broke a new single-game franchise record.
“If you’re open, she’s going to hit you. I think she turns down some shots. I’d like her to take some shots that, when she comes off, she knows she has the green light.”
On whether she’s talked to Clark about being more unselfish yet, “No, I was really just worried about defense in these 48 hours since watching the game,” Sides answered.
