This weekend spelled the conclusion of the PGA tour season and the end to a great year on the course for Offaly man Shane Lowry.

 

Lowry finished in a tie for 9th with Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy and Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama at the Tour Championship, earning $1.61 million for his weekend’s work.

 

The eventual winner was world number one Scottie Scheffler on 30 under, four shots ahead of Colin Morikawa in 2nd, as he claimed his seventh title of a dominant season on the PGA Tour and taking his season earnings to an eye-watering $56,222,145 in the process.

 

Lowry’s rounds of 69, 69, 65 and 68 saw him finish the tournament on 16-under-par, finishing with a birdie on the final hole to end an impressive week for the Irishman
