The Boston Bruins have locked up one of their rising stars, signing forward Morgan Geekie to a six-year, $33 million contract following his breakout 2024–25 season, the team announced Sunday night. The deal comes as a major reward for Geekie, who took a huge step forward offensively and became a key contributor in Boston’s top six.
The 26-year-old posted career highs with 33 goals and 57 points in 77 games, thriving in an expanded role during the final year of his initial two-year contract with the Bruins. With five full NHL seasons under his belt, Geekie was set to become a restricted free agent when the league’s signing period opens Tuesday—but Boston made sure he never hit the market.

Geekie originally joined the Bruins as a free-agent signing two summers ago and found instant chemistry on a line with David Pastrnak and Elias Lindholm this past season. That trio helped elevate Geekie’s production and solidified his place as a reliable scoring threat.
In two seasons with Boston, Geekie has totaled 50 goals and 95 points in 153 games, a sharp rise from the 25 goals and 67 points he tallied in 142 games with Carolina and Seattle. With this long-term deal, the Bruins are betting on his continued development as a core piece of their offense moving forward.
