Good evening Gang Green Nation! Yesterday the New York Jets non-story making the rounds involved the Jets possibly trading Breece Hall, which took on a life of its own after Rich Cimini published a couple of lines of his own speculations regarding such a potential trade. That non-story continues to chase its own tail. Today we have a proposal that the Jets might trade Garrett Wilson to the Carolina Panthers for a 2026 first round pick. Apparently the Jets are eager to rid themselves of the limited top line talent they have at the offensive skill positions. While a Wilson trade might make some sense in a vacuum if the Jets don’t believe they can re-sign him, in the real world trading Wilson would give the Jets the worst offense in the NFL, something Aaron Glenn and company probably wouldn’t be too happy about. It’s a dead time in the NFL news cycle. These kinds of non-stories pop up every year around this time. It can be fun to speculate, but given the giant gaping abyss behind Wilson at wide receiver for the Jets, the chances of the Jets actually trading Wilson, barring Wilson suddenly going all Jamal Adams with his desire for a trade, are virtually nil.
