Bears sign CB Nahshon Wright one day after Vikings cut him

Posted on April 8, 2025

The Bears signed cornerback Nahshon Wright on Tuesday, one day after the Vikings released the 26-year-old.

Wright’s height is special — he stands 6-foot-4, which is gigantic for a cornerback — but he’s struggled to carve out a significant role in the NFL despite being a former third-round pick of the Cowboys.

He started three games and appeared in 29 more over three seasons with the Cowboys, intercepting one pass in 2022. The Cowboys traded him to the Vikings last year for cornerback Andrew Booth, and Wright played in just one game for Minnesota. He spent the season on the Vikings’ practice squad.

Wright went to Oregon State, where he posted five interceptions in two years after transferring from Laney College, where he won a national junior college championship.

Wright’s new position coach knows all about him — Al Harris was the Cowboys’ defensive backs coach when the two were in Dallas. The Bears named Harris their defensive backs coach/pass-game coordinator this offseason.
