On Wednesday, two Cubs fans took their romance to an amusing extreme as they shared a hot dog from opposite ends while sitting behind home plate at Wrigley Field during the Cubs’ game against the Texas Rangers.
At one point, they spotted themselves on the TV broadcast and decided to mimic the famous “Lady and the Tramp” scene, both taking a bite of the hot dog as a Chicago player prepared to bat in front of them. The couple soon realized their playful moment had gone viral when they checked their phones and saw how widely the video had spread.
The video, which shows them laughing hysterically while holding their own hot dogs moments later, was shared on MLB’s TikTok account, where it has been viewed over 247k times. The account humorously captioned the video, “need a meet cute like this BAD.”
Unfortunately for the couple, their cute moment didn’t lead to a Cubs win, as Chicago lost to the Rangers 6-2. Still, the Cubs have had a promising start to the season with a 9-6 record, despite the setback.
As the team embarks on a West Coast road trip, they’ll face the Dodgers and Padres before returning to Wrigley Field on April 18 to begin a homestand against the Dodgers and Phillies.
