Thank the Eagles for ruining yet another Chiefs Super Bowl afterparty

Posted on April 14, 2025

There we were at Super Bowl 59. We wouldn’t have believed it had we not heard it for ourselves. A mostly pro-Philadelphia Eagles crowd was booing the Kansas City Chiefs as superfan Jon Hamm introduced them. It didn’t bother us at first. After all, Birds fans always take over any stadium Philly plays in, but this time felt different. This time, the guys in green and white were America’s Team.

We’ll see if that holds once Philly wins one or two more. Success breeds envy. Hmmm… Maybe that’s how the Chiefs got to be the bad guys in the first place. They just won too many times.

Don’t feel sorry for them though… We don’t! Let’s not pretend like K.C. isn’t coddled. They typically get the calls from the refs, and let’s not even get into the lovefest so many media members have with them.

On second thought, we’ve changed our minds. Let’s do that. Let’s talk about the media.

It looks like that behind-the-scenes Chiefs documentary has to be altered now.

You’ve heard that old saying about assumptions, right? No, well, how about those about counting chickens before the eggs hatch or leaping without looking? Here’s one you’re going to love.

What if we told you ESPN tried to piece together a documentary about the Chiefs’ three-peat and did so assuming said three-peat was a no-brainer? During the 2024-25 NFL season, much of the team that constructed the Chicago Bulls documentary, ‘The Last Dance’, began piecing together a biopic of sorts after being given extensive access to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and many of their teammates. The goal was to chronicle K.C.’s journey to an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl win.

There isn’t a Birds fan walking that doesn’t know how that turned out.

Philly crashed the party, and the Chiefs’ dreams of glory ended in heartache. It was beautiful to watch, and regardless of what you say, we’ll always remember 40-6 as the final score.

What’s up with the film, you ask? As it turns out, ESPN intends to go on with its release. The six-episode docuseries will premiere later this year on both ESPN and Disney Plus.

Oh, you bet we’ll be tuning in. We wouldn’t miss it for the world. We hated how Kelce ended, with the G.O.A.T. walking off the field with his head hanging. Something tells us we’ll like the end of this Chiefs tale 100 times more.
