Young Lions Stud Honoring Late Friend With Amazing Gesture for 2025 Season

Posted on April 15, 2025

The Detroit Lions are preparing for the 2025 season after one of the best campaigns in team history last year. Although they weren’t able to cash in on a title, the Lions are full steam ahead of the 2025.

They have a good group of young playmakers all over the field and cornerback Terrion Arnold is one of those building blocks. As a rookie, he wore No. 0 but decided to switch over to No. 6. Arnold gave the reasoning for that and said he’s honoring his late former teammate and friend Khyree Jackson.

Terrion Arnold Honoring Khyree Jackson by Wearing No. 6

Last July, Jackson unfortunately passed away after being a part of a three-car accident in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He and two of his former high school teammates didn’t survive the crash and the pain was felt throughout the league. He was just drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Arnold and Jackson were teammates together at Alabama and formed a tight bond. Arnold also wore No. 6 briefly at John Paul II Catholic High School in Tallahassee, Florida.

Arnold said, “We all know what happened to my friend Khyree and I just feel like just being able to honor his legacy and then the impact that he even had on me. The guy was a competitor, the ultimate competitor and it’s kind of just that extra motivation when you look down and you say, ‘Dang man, I got on that 6 and my brother living through me at the same time.”

After Jackson’s death, Brian Branch missed a training camp practice to attend Jackson’s funeral, calling it a moment bigger than football.

While this is something that will sit with Arnold for the foreseeable future, he is making sure to stay connected to his late teammate.

Arnold is playing for more than himself and that shows the type of guy he is. The 22-year-old displayed some good flashes as a rookie and is looking to take a big step by donning No. 6.
