Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman Doesn’t Rule Out Major NFL Draft Trade

Posted on April 18, 2025

The Philadelphia Eagles could be primed to move on from one of the offense’s weapons while restarting the financial clock during the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

Tight end Dallas Goedert has been the subject of frequent trade rumors throughout the offseason, which could be coming to a head during the draft, which offers a bounty of elite prospects at the position.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman Breaks Silence on Dallas Goedert’s Future

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman didn’t rule out making a trade, during a pre-draft press conference where he reiterated that Goedert’s contract isn’t playing a factor in Philadelphia’s draft preparation.

“Certainly, when we talk about how the class looks, it all depends on who’s there when you’re picking,” Roseman told reporters. “So, we’ve been in situations where we think it’s a really good class at a certain position and then when we’re picking, it just hasn’t worked out that the caliber players met the value of the pick. So, I think that that’s how we kind of judge the class is wherever we’re picking, what’s the caliber of player at that point in time.”

While Roseman and the Eagles are unlikely to trade up for one of the top tight end prospects, such as Penn State’s Tyler Warren, or Michigan’s Colston Loveland, if the Eagles have the chance to select Miami’s Elijah Arroyo or Oregon’s Terrance Ferguson, it could be a position Philadelphia targets to replace Goedert who could potentially be dealt.

“I think for us, I’ve been very fortunate to have the caliber of tight end play that we’ve had here,” Roseman said. “When I first became GM, Brent Celek, obviously an unbelievable player, then to Zach Ertz, then to Dallas Goedert. Three really unbelievable players and people that we’ve had here.
