Philadelphia Eagles Sign Veteran Wide Receiver Before Draft

Posted on April 18, 2025

The Philadelphia Eagles added a veteran wide receiver with 17 starts with less than two weeks remaining before the regular season.

Wide receiver was not an issue for the Eagles in 2024. A.J. Brown was the team’s leading receiver with 67 receptions for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns. DeVonta Smith added 68 receptions for 833 yards and eight touchdowns.

Three Eagles pass catchers, tight end Dallas Goedert, tight end Grant Calcaterra, and running back Saquon Barkley had more receiving yards than WR 3, Jahan Dotson.

The team is looking for extra depth at the position this offseason, and they added a receiver on Thursday.

The Philadelphia Eagles signed a wide receiver

Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC, the Eagles signed Terrace Marshall Jr. to the roster.

“Eagles signed former Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr., per a league source. Deal negotiated @eliteloyaltysp,” Wilson posted on X.

Terrace Marshall Jr. has started in 17 games

Marshall won a national championship with Joe Burrow and LSU in 2019. The Carolina Panthers selected the Bossier City, Louisiana native in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons with the Panthers before being waived in training camp last year.

The six-foot-two, 200-pound athlete spent some time with the San Francisco 49ers practice squad before signing with the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad in November.

At 24, Marshall has appeared in 43 games and started in 17. He’s caught 67 passes for 808 yards, and one touchdown in his four-year NFL career.

The Eagles were able to squeeze some value out of Dotson that the Washington Commanders couldn’t. Marshall could have an opportunity to shine in Philadelphia.
