Philadelphia Eagles GM Opens Up About Surprising Dallas Goedert Trade Rumors Before 2025 Draft

Posted on April 18, 2025

The Philadelphia Eagles have had a tough offseason, losing quite a few key players from their Super Bowl winning season in 2024. In addition to the players who have already left, there have been a lot of trade rumors surrounding veteran tight end Dallas Goedert.

Goedert could end up being on his way out of town ahead of the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft to save more cap space. However, moving on from Geodert could have a negative impact on the offense.

Throughout the offseason, the Eagles went out and added two new tight ends. Both Harrison Bryant and Kylen Granson were signed in free agency. That could leave Goedert as the odd man out with the kind of money he is owed.

All of that being said, general manager Howie Roseman spoke out and opened up about the Goedert rumors at the annual league meetings.

As shared by Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Roseman did not give much of an update, but he did speak out about the subject.

“There’s no update. Obviously, Dallas has been a tremendous player and person for us … The opportunities that we got into free agency with [TEs] Harrison Bryant and [Kylen] Granson were just opportunities we felt were good for our football team. I know certainly that Dallas is (a) unique player. So really, that’s kind of where we’re standing,” Roseman said

Basically, Roseman did not deny that the Eagles are looking to trade Goedert. His comments should further the expectation that the 30-year-old tight end might be on his way out of town.

During the 2024 NFL season with Philadelphia, Goedert played in 10 games. He caught 42 passes for 496 yards and two touchdowns.

In 93 career games, all with the Eagles, Goedert has racked up 349 receptions for 4,085 yards and 24 touchdowns.
