Ground Breaking: Just In Chicago Cubs Receive Shock Update Regarding Nico Hoerner Decision No One Saw It Coming

Posted on April 21, 2025

The Los Angeles Dodgers aren’t exactly off to a rough start in the 2025 MLB season—but despite a strong showing just 18 games in, the reigning World Series champs are already exploring ways to improve. With a 12-6 record, the Dodgers would be leading the American League, but instead sit third in a stacked National League West. Their sense of urgency only grew after Saturday’s crushing 16-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs—the worst home defeat in franchise history.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Dodgers have been in talks with the Chicago White Sox about trading for All-Star outfielder Luis Robert Jr. Although Robert belted 38 homers just two seasons ago, his name continues to surface in trade rumors. Nightengale reported that discussions involving a potential deal—centered around Triple-A outfielder James Outman and another top-tier prospect—have been “tabled” for now.

If negotiations resume, Robert would join an already star-studded Dodgers lineup featuring Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and reigning NL MVP Shohei Ohtani. Still, Robert has expressed his appreciation for staying with the White Sox, saying through an interpreter, “I didn’t think I’d be here, but I’m glad I am. This is the organization that made my dream come true.”

The White Sox hold team options on Robert for 2026 and 2027, but with the team sitting at 4-11—the worst record in the AL—and entering a rebuild, trade speculation around their most valuable asset is likely to persist in the weeks and months ahead.
