Craig Counsell Sends Strong Message After Historic Cubs-Diamondbacks Game

One of the craziest games in the 2025 MLB season thus far took place at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Friday.

The Chicago Cubs appeared as though they were on their way to securing an easy victory over the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks, with the home team taking a comfortable six-run lead into the eighth inning.

But the Diamondbacks erupted for 10 runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a four-run lead. Unfortunately for Arizona, its euphoria was short-lived.

The Cubs responded right away, going off for six runs in the bottom of the same inning before Ryan Pressly shut the door on the Diamondbacks in the ninth inning to earn the pitching win in a 13-11 Chicago victory.
