BEARS OR PATRIOTS?; NFL Draft Insiders Reveals Decision Time For 1,381 Yards ‘Top Tier’ Washington Running Back

As the 2025 NFL Draft rapidly approaches, one of the most intriguing storylines centers around explosive Washington Huskies running back Jonah Coleman. With 1,381 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns to his name in the 2024 college football season, Coleman has firmly positioned himself as one of the top running back prospects in the draft class.

According to multiple NFL insiders, the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots are currently locked in a battle of interest for the dynamic playmaker. Both franchises are reportedly weighing the possibility of drafting Coleman as early as Day 2, with scouts praising his combination of balance, vision, and breakaway speed.

“Jonah Coleman is a top-tier back — no question about it,” said an anonymous AFC scout. “He’s compact, powerful, and incredibly smart with the ball in his hands. He fits right into the mold of a modern three-down back.”

For the Bears, adding Coleman would offer a significant boost to a backfield that has lacked a true home-run threat. With a young quarterback core and a retooled offensive line, Chicago could see Coleman as a piece to elevate their offense to the next level.

Meanwhile, the Patriots — under the new direction of head coach Jerod Mayo — are in the midst of a roster revamp. With Rhamondre Stevenson returning from injury and depth concerns lingering, Coleman could be a valuable asset in both the run and pass game.

Coleman has yet to reveal any preference, but sources close to his camp suggest he’s ready for any challenge. “He just wants to go where he can make an impact,” said his trainer. “Whether that’s Chicago, New England, or somewhere else — he’s locked in and ready.”

With draft day looming, all eyes will be on which franchise decides to take a chance on one of college football’s most electric backs. Will it be the Windy City or Foxborough that calls Jonah Coleman’s name?
