Bears Sign Former 3rd-Round CB After Release From Vikings

Posted on April 12, 2025

The Chicago Bears may have the 2025 NFL draft at the forefront of their minds right now, but they haven’t let that stop them from fine-tuning their roster.

In the past week alone, the Bears have formally re-signed five of their own free agents and brought in three veterans with no prior ties to the team, including veteran quarterback Case Keenum to help mentor starter Caleb Williams.

They also swiped one out of the Minnesota Vikings’ discard pile on Tuesday.

According to the team’s transaction wire, the Bears signed cornerback Nahshon Wright to a one-year contract for the 2025 season, reaching an agreement with the 2021 third-round pick just one day after his release from the Vikings.

Wright has played 33 games and made three starts over his first four seasons in the NFL, playing all but one for the Dallas Cowboys — who drafted him with the 99th pick in 2021. He played just 15 special teams snaps for the Vikings in 2024.

The Vikings had acquired Wright in a player-for-player trade last August that saw them send cornerback Andrew Booth Jr., their 2022 second-round pick, to the Cowboys. Despite their hopes, though, he did not make their initial roster.
