Besides the lines and running back, who is the one prospect you hope the Bears draft?

Posted on April 13, 2025

We wrap up another draft-centric Chicago Bears roundtable today, where we’ve been asking our team to give the player they want at specific positions. In case you missed it, we already hit on running back, offensive line, and defensive line, so here’s our final question: Besides the trenches and running back, who is the one prospect you hope the Bears draft?

Here’s what we had to say.

Mongo Peanut: Wide out, Jaylin Noel. I am an Iowa State grad and have watched him be a fantastic contributor for 4 years in Ames. He is the perfect slot player to line up next to Moore, Odunze, and Kmet.

Bryan Orenchuk: I would love for the Bears to snag Safety, Andrew Mukuba, from Texas. He pops off the screen when I watch and is lethal in both run and pass game, though he’s a bit undersized, so I’d like him to learn from Byard and be the long-term solution at FS.

Josh Sunderbruch: “Hope” is a strong word, but I have a hunch that Colston Loveland is the tight end in this class who would normally be the guy to go in the top ten. I think there are a lot of things he does well, and I see him as having the potential to grow steadily into a difference-maker in the NFL.

Jacob Infante: I’m in agreement that the Bears could use a tight end, though I’m not sure I see the urgency to draft one very early. I would love a tight end on Day 3 to develop behind Cole Kmet, though. Luke Lachey from Iowa is an athletic tight end with impressive fluidity and coordination across the middle of the field. I love his untapped potential as a route runner.

Lester A. Wiltfong Jr.: Targeting an Iowa tight end seems like a smart move every year, so I’m with Jacob here. While I could get on board with one of the top tight ends early if their board falls that way, Lachey on day three would get a player capable of contributing as a rookie in two tight ends sets.

Share with us the prospect you’d like the Bears to target at a position other than running back or the lines.
