Giants Remain Cautious with Malik Nabers as He Recovers from Toe Injury
The New York Giants have been conducting practices without their top offensive weapon, Malik Nabers, who has been sidelined throughout OTAs due to a lingering toe injury that dates back to his college days.
Malik Nabers Showing Signs of Progress
Head coach Brian Daboll recently shared that Nabers is “progressing” in his recovery, though he’s still limited to rehab work. According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the rookie wide receiver has participated in walkthroughs but has not yet joined full team drills.
“We’re being careful with his toe, which he’s dealt with for a while — even back in college,” Daboll said in May. He clarified that no surgery was needed, calling it “nothing serious,” but emphasized the team is being “smart” with the recovery process.
Eyes on Training Camp Return
While Nabers rehabs, third-year wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has been taking advantage of his opportunity with the first-team offense and has emerged as one of the standout players this spring.
Although OTAs include team drills, they serve mainly as a lead-in to training camp, which begins in late July. The Giants are optimistic that Nabers will be fully ready by then.
The team will wrap up OTAs this Friday, followed by a mandatory minicamp from June 17–19 before breaking for the summer and returning for training camp in July.
