After spending his first five NHL seasons in Boston, Sean Kuraly is a solid match for the organization because of his experience with it. The forward, who signed a two-year contract with his former team after playing with the Blue Jackets for the previous four seasons, will not only add consistency to the bottom six but also offer a seasoned presence in the locker room.
And it’s something Kuraly is looking forward to.
“There were a lot of young players in Columbus who were very talented and skilled, and it was enjoyable to be around them.” And with those folks, I believe it’s a two-way street,” Kuraly stated on Wednesday. As much as you’re trying to teach them, you can also learn from them. However, I believe that the best advice for a younger player in this league is to simply show up and be yourself.
During his tenure with the Blue Jackets, Kuraly occupied positions of leadership. He gave credit to Brad Marchand, David Krejci, David Backes, Zdeno Chara, and Patrice Bergeron for learning from them while playing alongside them.
Kuraly remarked, “I realized how fortunate I am and how fortunate I was just to be able to be around them.” “And now, it’s kind of what you’d like to do if you can help the next wave in any way.”
Kuraly is content to be back where his career started and contribute to the team in any way he can, even though his role with the Bruins for the 2025–26 campaign is uncertain because Boston signed a number of other bottom-six forwards on the first day of free agency.
Kuraly remarked, “I’ve always had a soft spot for the city, for the organization, for the team.” “I was thrilled to receive that phone call, and it was a pretty, easy sell for me.”
