BREAKING NEWS: Excitement hits Bank of America Stadium as former Carolina Panthers DE Jared Allen Returned to his former team as a senior coaching….

Posted on June 6, 2025

Once again, the atmosphere at Bank of America Stadium is electrifying, but this time, it goes beyond the players on the field. With a whistle and a headset instead of pads, former Carolina Panthers defensive end Jared Allen has returned to his old haunts. There is a lot of excitement among coaches, players, and fans as the Hall of Fame finalist and one of the most aggressive pass rushers of his generation takes on a new position as a senior defensive coaching assistant.

Allen, who played for the Panthers in 2015 during the last season of his legendary NFL career, is no stranger to leadership. Known for his unwavering drive, exuberant demeanor, and unparalleled work ethic, he left a lasting impression while playing for Carolina, leading the team to a 15-1 record and a trip to the Super Bowl. He is returning over ten years later to assist in developing the Panthers’ defenders of the future.

At his first press conference, Allen remarked, “It felt like home when I walked back into this building.” Being here as a non-player is different, but I’m just as motivated, if not more so. I’ve always expressed my desire to become a coach, so the opportunity to work with this team is invaluable

.Allen’s comeback is more than a token gesture. It’s a calculated move. Particularly on the defensive end of the ball, the Panthers are now undergoing a significant reconstruction. Now, young pass rushers like Yetur Gross-Matos and DJ Johnson may learn from one of the greatest of all time. With 136 sacks, Allen is 12th all-time, and he has the best grasp of edge play.

Dave Canales, the head coach, was beaming when he talked about Allen joining the team. “Jared contributes passion, experience, and intensity that is contagious.” He is already admired by our boys, so it is really helpful to have someone who has been in their position and competed at the greatest level.

The players have been just as excited. Defensive end Brian Burns, a pillar of the defense, stated that having Allen in the room has already had an impact: “He’s real. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything. You can tell he loves the game and wants us to be great. Just having him here makes you want to level up.” Allen’s transition from player to coach appears to be a natural one; since retiring, he has stayed close to the game, coaching young players and occasionally working with teams during training camps. However, now that he has a clear role and an official title, he is fully committed to helping Carolina return to contention. He stated, “I’m not here to relive my glory days. I’m here to help this team win. That’s it.”
