The Boston Red Sox and star designated hitter Rafael Devers have started off the 2025 MLB season with a 1-2 record. On Saturday, the Red Sox fell to the Texas Rangers by a final score of 4-3. Devers has played in all three games, but has not recorded a single hit in 12 at-bats. He does have one RBI and has drawn a walk. It hasn’t been the start that the 28-year-old was hoping for, but there is no reason to panic.

Devers has a long history of success during his tenure with Boston. Following his third game of the season, Devers made some unfortunate MLB history. Bob Nightengale of USA Today shared that Devers has created a new strikeout record through the first three games of a season.
