Breaking News: Indianapolis Colts signed an undrafted free agent that the rest of the NFL made a mistake not selecting in the 2025 NFL Draft

Posted on April 29, 2025

Among the Colts UDFA signings was arguably the most athletic WR in the entire class.

The Colts signed super athlete Troy WR Landon Parker who went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Colts signed Troy WR Landon Parker to a deal following the 2025 NFL Draft. Parker didn’t have much production at the college level, though he did enough to be Troy’s second-leading receiver with 350 yards last season on just 27 receptions. Despite his lack of production, many throughout the draft cycle began to believe his athletic profile warranted him hearing his name in the sixth or seventh round.

Parker measured in at just over 6-2 and weighed 211 lbs at Troy’s Pro Day. And he put on a show during on-field drills. He recorded a 4.40 40-yard dash, 38.5″ vertical, and an eye-popping 11-1 broad jump and 6.68 3-cone. If he were to have recorded those numbers at the scouting combine (that he wasn’t invited to) he would have had tied for the seventh fastest 40 for a WR, and tied for the sixth highest vertical for a WR. And he would have had the second-best 3-cone and broad jump for a WR. These numbers, paired with his size at the WR position, landed him the highest Relative Athletic Score, or better known as RAS, for a WR in this year’s class with a 9.97. This ranks him 14th out of 3,816 players in the database from 1987 to 2025.

WR will be a challenging position for a UDFA to make the Colts roster this year. The team has six WRs already on the roster that I would have a hard time seeing them part ways with. Those players are Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, Alec Pierce, Adonai Mitchell, Ashton Dulin, and Anthony Gould. Parker’s athletic profile is exciting, though, and I’m sure it played a significant role in the Colts’ choosing to bring him into training camp to get a closer look at him. And if they can help him figure out how to use his athleticism to his advantage, he could become a massive steal for the team. But I think he would probably have to spend at least a year on the team’s practice squad developing before he gets the chance to ever step foot on an NFL field for the regular season.
