Breaking News: League-Altering Trade Proposal Sends Lions’ Star to Dallas- Cowboys Crafting the Crafting the Most Explosive Offense in NFL History

Posted on June 5, 2025

The Dallas Cowboys made a huge addition to their wide receivers room recently, but could they stand to make another?

After not having an adequate No. 2 option across from CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys solved that issue by pulling off a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for volatile wide receiver George Pickens.

While it remains to be seen if Pickens will be able to keep himself out of trouble in Dallas, he does offer a fantastic No. 2 option for Dak Prescott, which seriously upgrades the Cowboys’ offense.

But Last Word on Sports’ Anthony Palacios thinks the Cowboys might not be done. He has proposed a wild scenario where Dallas pulls off a trade for Detroit Lions wideout, Jameson Williams.

Williams is coming off a breakout season in which he broke the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career and proved he’s one of the most lethal big-play weapons in the NFL.

Pulling off a trade for Williams would make the Cowboys’ offense unstoppable. There is simply no way to effectively cover Lamb, Pickens and Williams at the same time.

However, this trade will never happen.

The Cowboys aren’t going to take on another big wide receiver contract when they are already paying Lamb top dollar, and might have to pay Pickens in 2025. And, while Williams is a fantastic player, the Cowboys don’t really need him at this point. He’d be more of a luxury than anything else.

Even if the Cowboys are interested, the Lions won’t be. Williams is simply too important to Detroit’s offense as the No. 2 option behind Amon-Ra St. Brown. Trading him away would be stupid, especially for a Super Bowl contender.

That said, depending on how things go in 2025, we could see Williams get traded in 2026 because the Lions might be hesitant to extend Williams for a few reasons: his past off-the-field issues and a lack of a desire to pay out big contracts to two wide receivers.

But we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, Williams is locked-in with the Lions for at least one more season.
