There could be a family reunion of sorts soon in Santa Clara. After nine years, the Los Angeles Chargers released star veteran defensive end Joey Bosa in a salary cap-slashing move. The Chargers gained $25-plus million in cap space with the move. There are reportedly two teams showing the most interest in signing Bosa and he could soon sign with either the San Francisco 49ers or the Miami Dolphins. The San Francisco Standard’s Tim Kawakami reported on Sunday that the 49ers are in discussions and nearing a deal to sign Bosa. “Nothing is done, but the Bosa brothers want to be together and probably will get there this year,” Kawakami wrote. “Which likely means this will be a moderate deal + incentives.” The Dolphins are expected to make a hard charge at the free agent Bosa, since, as The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported, “Miami ranked 27th with 35 sacks last season.” Bosa could fix just about any team’s anemic pass rush.
