BREAKING NEWS: Carolina Panthers Select WR Jimmy Horn Jr. with the 208th Pick in 2025 NFL Draft
Charlotte, NC — April 27, 2025
The Carolina Panthers added explosive speed and playmaking potential to their receiving corps, selecting Colorado wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. with the 208th overall pick in the 6th round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Horn, known for his electrifying quickness and ability to separate from defenders, played a key role in Colorado’s offense under head coach Deion Sanders. Despite a challenging season for the Buffaloes, Horn consistently flashed his ability as a slot receiver and special teams contributor, often turning short passes into big gains with his elite acceleration and sharp route-running.
In his final college season, Horn recorded over 600 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns, while also contributing as a return man. His versatility and speed caught the attention of several teams, but it was Carolina that made the move.
Panthers GM Dan Morgan praised the pick shortly after the selection:
“Jimmy brings dynamic speed and toughness to our wide receiver room. He’s the kind of player who can change the game in a single play—whether on offense or special teams. We’re excited to get him into our system.”
Horn joins a young offensive unit led by quarterback Bryce Young and will compete for reps in the slot and as a return specialist. Scouts have compared his play style to players like Darnell Mooney and DeAndre Carter, with the potential to carve out a big role if developed properly.
With this pick, Carolina continues to emphasize speed and playmaking as they build around their franchise quarterback and reshape their offensive identity.
