Pavel Zacha’s future with the Boston Bruins remains uncertain once more, as reports suggest he may be traded after being linked to a move earlier in the offseason.
According to The Fourth Period, which ranked Zacha as the 17th most-valuable player supposedly available for trade, the Bruins have reopened trade talks involving the forward.
“The Bruins looked at the trade market for Zacha during the season, and there’s speculation that Boston is once more considering a move,” TFP reported. “His no-trade clause drops from 10 teams to eight
Zacha, 28, is contracted for two more seasons under his four-year, $19 million deal, signed through the 2026–27 season with a $4.75 million cap hit.
The seasoned winger, who can also play as a center, is one of Boston’s more significant forward assets and is part of the Bruins’ second forward line.
It is reasonable to expect that trading him would probably require a considerable return.
The Bruins have been actively acquiring players this offseason, and with their lineup evolving under new head coach Marco Sturm, Zacha’s role is no longer assured.
TFP has identified the Vancouver Canucks and the Utah Mammoth as teams interested in the Bruins forward.
“Zacha could offer Vancouver an improvement at the second-line center position over Filip Chytil,” Michael DeRosa of The Hockey News suggested in an article discussing possible fits for Zacha.
Utah has already brought in JJ Peterka and Nate Schmidt during the offseason, but might be looking for another middle-six center.teams on July 1, giving him some influence on where he might end up, if traded. He has two years left on his contract.”.
