Chicago Bears’ Latest Trade Prediction Would Be Great News for Caleb Williams

The Chicago Bears have been aggressive this offseason building around young quarterback Caleb Williams. In addition to impactful roster moves, the Bears also brought in an elite offensive mind in new head coach Ben Johnson. Among the notable offseason moves have been the trade additions of offensive linemen Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney. Both players will help keep Williams upright, healthy, and having more time to make plays. Other additions include center Drew Dalman, defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo, and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett. A new prediction has Chicago pulling off a major trade in the 2025 NFL draft.

The move would bring in an elite playmaker alongside of Williams. Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has the Bears pulling off a major trade in the first round of the draft. He sees Chicago moving all the way up from No. 10 overall to No. 5 in order to land Boise State star running back Ashton Jeanty. “The Jaguars trade out of this spot as Ben Johnson goes up to get the feature back for his offense,” he wrote. “He moves ahead of the Raiders to do so. Jeanty can do it all. The Jaguars drop to No. 10 to get more picks so they can add more players, which they need.” Williams and Jeanty would form a lethal backfield duo long-term. Adding an elite running back would also take a lot of pressure off of Williams and the passing game. During the 2024 college football season at Boise State, Jeanty racked up 2,601 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns on 374 carries, averaging 7.0 yards per carry. He also caught 23 passes for 138 yards and another touchdown.

Behind his impressive numbers, Jeanty was a Heisman Trophy finalist. Landing with the Bears would be a perfect fit for Jeanty.
