Rashee Rice admitted to being involved in the six-car crash in a text to the company that owned the Lamborghini he leased, according to a TMZ report on Tuesday.
The Super Bowl-winning Chiefs receiver was in the Lamborghini that was racing a friend who was driving a Corvette he owned on the North Central Expressway in Dallas around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday leading to the massive collision, which included wrecking the Lamborghini.
Rice is cooperating with authorities, according to his attorney.
“On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday,” attorney Royce West said in a statement to ESPN. “Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.”
According to TMZ, Rice texted the company that owns the 2021 luxury car he leases for $1,749 a day to say he was involved in the crash.
Rice was the only person permitted to drive the car, an attorney for Classic Lifestyle (the luxury car company) told TMZ.
