Colts’ Shane Steichen Makes Unfortunate Anthony Richardson Announcement

Posted on June 7, 2025

As teams prepare for mandatory minicamp next week, the Indianapolis Colts will be heading into the workouts with a lot of questions yet to be answered.

After finishing the 2024 season in second place in the AFC South division, the Colts were a game under .500 with an 8-9 record.

Franchise running back Jonathan Taylor had another stellar year, finishing with 1,431 rushing yards and 12 total touchdowns, but the team was littered with injuries throughout the offense.

Both Jonathan Taylor and wide receiver Josh Downs each missed three games, while Michael Pittman Jr. dealt with a lingering back injury that kept him from being at 100%. Meanwhile, the quarterback situation remains uncertain.

The Colts decided to go out and sign veteran quarterback Daniel Jones to a one-year, $14 million deal to give him another chance to develop his game in the NFL.

Former first-round pick Anthony Richardson has been having an underwhelming start to his career as well.

After injuries limited him to just 15 games over his first two seasons, Anthony Richardson’s inexperience has shown, with a career stat line of 11 touchdown passes, 13 interceptions, and 2,391 passing yards.

Anthony Richardson comes down with another injury heading into mini-camp

Richardson’s NFL resume has been filled with injuries, and it seems to be continuing into this offseason.

It’s been reported that the Colts’ quarterback is dealing with a shoulder injury and won’t be participating in the team’s mini-camp that starts next week.

Although it’s not clear which shoulder the injury pertains to, it’s concerning as Richardson dealt with a AC fracture in his shoulder that cut his rookie season short, playing in just five games in 2023.

The injury list keeps piling up for the Colts’ former first-round pick, and it can only help but bring concerns to fans as Indianapolis prepares for the 2025 season.
