Left-hander Evan Taylor joins High-A South Bend from Mesa. Right-hander Carlo Reyes goes from Double-A Knoxville to High-A South Bend.

The Iowa Cubs winged the Buffalo Bison (Blue Jays), 9-1.
Cade Horton allowed a solo home run in the first inning and little else. Tonight, he got the win after pitching a career-high six innings and allowing just one run on three hits. He struck out five and walked one.
Tyson Miller threw the next two innings in a rehab appearance. He gave up neither a run nor a hit. Miller did walk two and struck out one. Miller has now pitched 6.1 innings in three rehab appearances and has yet to allow a run. He’s given up three hits, three walks and has struck out seven.
Third baseman Matt Shaw seems to have found his groove, going 4 for 5 with a double. He drove in one run and scored a real hustle run when he scored all the way from second base on a wild pitch in the fifth inning.
Second baseman Ben Cowles doubled twice in a 3 for 4 night. Cowles scored twice.
Catcher Reese McGuire went 3 for 4 with a steal of third. McGuire drove home two and scored once.
DH Moisés Ballesteros extended his hitting streak to 15 games when he singled in the third inning. Ballesteros was 1 for 5 with one run scored and an RBI groundout.
Horton’s five strikeouts all came in the first three innings.
