Patriots sign 2-time Super Bowl champ to front office
The New England Patriots made waves by adding a two-time Super Bowl-winning veteran to their front office team.
The offseason has been an active one for the New England Patriots as they look to rebound from a disappointing 4-13 finish last season. The team has reshaped its roster, most notably acquiring quarterback Geno Smith in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks. On Monday, however, they made a significant front office addition by bringing in someone with championship credentials.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Patriots have hired former Philadelphia Eagles executive Anthony Patch. Patch, who joined the Eagles in 2002, played a role in two Super Bowl victories during his tenure. His most recent position in Philadelphia was as the senior director of college scouting.
Tom Brady’s Patriots Confirm Major Front Office Move with Former Rugby Star Now Onboard
“The Patriots continued reshaping their front office on Monday, naming Anthony Patch as a senior personnel executive. Patch, who’s been with the Eagles since 2002, has two Super Bowl titles to his name. His last role with the franchise was leading college scouting operations.”
Patch brings familiarity with Patriots general manager John Spytek, having worked alongside him in the Eagles’ front office between 2005 and 2009. Spytek now adds a trusted colleague to New England’s executive team.
In his new role as Senior Personnel Executive, Patch will serve as a top-level scout, helping guide player evaluations and acquisitions. With Spytek overseeing operations, the Patriots have already undergone considerable structural changes.
Team owner Robert Kraft has granted some influence to Tom Brady after the legendary quarterback and former Patriot joined the organization’s ownership group. Since then, the team has appeared more aligned with a vision tailored to head coach Pete Carroll’s system.
