Detroit Lions offseason injury issues: Amon-Ra St. Brown’s knee Surgery, Tyleik Williams’ rehabilitation, and Malcolm Rodriguez’s ACL recovery schedule.

Posted on June 8, 2025

The Detroit Lions are likely preparing for a much-anticipated 2025 season, yet their offseason workouts are overshadowed by a surge of injury worries. Star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown’s unexpected knee surgery, rookie Tyleik Williams still undergoing rehabilitation, and linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez likely to be sidelined for an extended period have caused the Lions’ careful strategy to prompt more inquiries than clarity.

Reasons for concern regarding Detroit’s injury updates

The Lions’ recent OTA sessions have seemed less like preparation for a significant season and more akin to a waiting area. Star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, typically the driving force of the offense, casually revealed that he had knee surgery following last season—a “clean-up” operation, as he described it. However, this was the initial occasion fans and media had received any information regarding it.

He missed OTAs during his rehabilitation and claims he’ll be prepared for training camp. Nevertheless, the delayed disclosure and absence of specifics have caused many to speculate on what additional information the team might be concealing.
