Dynamite Addition: Raiders Bring in Pro Bowl WR, Igniting a Firestorm of Excitement in Las Vegas

Posted on May 20, 2025

Keenan Allen would be a good fit for the Las Vegas Raiders if the team decides to add another wide receiver.

Granted, the Raiders selected three wide receivers in the 2025 NFL Draft in Jack Bech (second round, 58th overall), Dont’e Thornton Jr. (fourth round, 108th overall) and Tommy Mellott (sixth round, 213rd overall).

Those receivers join Jakobi Meyers, Tre Tucker, Alec Bachman, Key’Shawn Smith, Jeff Foreman, Ketron Jackson Jr., Shedrick Jackson and Kyle Phillips. You can pencil in Meyers and Tucker as starters, with star tight end Brock Bowers, who led the team in receiving yards with 1,194 yards last season.

Of those eight wideouts, Meyers played 91 games, followed by Tucker with 33. The rest will not cut it for QB Geno Smith, who will need reliable receivers to throw to besides Bowers and Meyers.

In a piece, Vinny Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review Journal was asked a question from a reader if the Raiders will add a player through trade or free agency.”

Coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek will never be completely satisfied with their roster. They’ll always be tinkering. So expect some moves before camp begins,” Bonsignore wrote.

One of those moves should be Allen, who knows the AFC West well.

Allen is familiar with receivers coach Chris Beatty. Beatty was with Allen while both were with the Los Angeles Chargers and Chicago Bears.

It doesn’t hurt that he has 11,274 receiving yards and 66 touchdowns to his resume. He would give Smith a reliable target, if he can stay healthy.

He was dealing with a heel and ankle injury last season, but assuming he’s back to full strength, the Raiders’ wide receiving room will be upgraded, if Allen is signed.

Down 4–1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 of the playoffs, most fans had lost hope. But this team wasn’t done. With under 11 minutes left in the third, they began to chip away. Nathan Horton made it 4–2. Then Lucic brought the Garden roaring with a goal at 18:38. Just 31 seconds later, Patrice Bergeron tied it up—sending the game to overtime. And in that extra frame, it was Bergeron again, burying the winner and cementing a night that Bruins fans will never forget. From heartbreak to heroics in less than ten minutes. Absolute madness..
