Eagles draft tracker: Penn State safety and potential 1st-round pick among recent visits

Posted on April 9, 2025

Each spring, the Eagles invite college prospects to the NovaCare Complex for a “30 visit” to complete their evaluations and we’re now in the heart of that stage of the draft process.

The most recent additions to the list included two potential first-round picks in cornerback Trey Amos from Ole Miss and defensive tackle T.J. Sanders from South Carolina. Penn State safety Jaylen Reed also paid the team a visit.

The first round of the NFL Draft is Thursday April 24 in Green Bay, Wis. with the ensuing rounds following Friday and Saturday.

In the 2024 draft, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman took Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Ainias Smith and Johnny Wilson — all of whom went on 30 visits with the organization.

Here are the prospects who have visited with the Eagles so far:

Penn State safety Jaylen Reed

The 6-foot, 211-pound safety’s visit was reported by the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Reed has also has had visits with the Giants, Lions, Ravens and Jets. Pro Football Focus does not have Reed ranked on its big board. Reed had three interceptions and seven tackles for loss for the Nittany Lions last season.

South Carolina defensive tackle T.J. Sanders

The 6-4, 297-pound defensive tackle’s visit was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who also listed the Texans, Cardinals, Falcons, Titans and Packers among the teams visited by Sanders.

PFF ranks Sanders at No. 38 on its big board and No. 6 among the interior defenders in the 2025 class. The PFF scouting report: “Sanders is a true 3-technique who wins with linear and lateral quickness to shoot gaps and disrupt. He must improve his hand precision and play strength to be a full-time starter. At worst, he is a contributing rotational 3-technique.”

Sanders had 8 1/2 sacks and 17 tackles for a loss during his final two seasons with the Gamecocks.

Texas A&M edge rusher Nic Scourton

The Eagles brought Scourton in for a 30 visit, according to Ryan Flower of The Draft Network. Due to the depth of the edge rusher class, Scourton will slip to the late first round or into the second round. He would fill an immediate need for the Eagles and could become an integral part of their future.

Over the last two years, Scourton has been one of college football’s most productive pass rushers, amassing 10 sacks for Purdue in 2023 and five sacks in 2024 for Texas A&M. At 6-foot-3, 257 pounds, he is very physical and strong.

The Eagles have a visit lined up with Amos, the Ole Miss cornerback told NFL Network. After taking two cornerbacks (DeJean and Mitchell) with his first two picks last year, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman could take another CB in the first two rounds this year — and Amos could be one of his top targets. Amos has great size (6-foot-1, 195 pounds), athleticism and ball skills.

Kansas State cornerback Jacob Parrish

Philadelphia has invited Parrish for a 30 visit, per the Liberty Line. If Roseman does not take a cornerback in the first two rounds, he could target Parrish in the third or fourth round, but that would not fix their outside cornerback need.

Parrish, who is 5-foot-10, 191 pounds, projects to be a slot cornerback, so the Eagles could play him in the nickel and move DeJean to the outside.

Texas A&M defensive tackle Shemar Turner

The Eagles could draft multiple defensive linemen in the top 100, including in the third round where they could select Turner, who took a 30 visit with the team, per the Liberty Line. Turner, a 6-foot-3, 290 pound DT, is an explosive athlete with strong hands. In his first year with the Eagles, he would be a rotational player.

Georgia offensive guard Dylan Fairchild

Eagles offensive guard Tyler Steen won’t be handed the job without a fight. So don’t be surprised if the Eagles draft someone like Fairchild in the third round to compete with Steen and Kenyon Green.

Fairchild, who has taken a 30 visit with the Eagles, according to The Draft Network, was a two-year starter for the Bulldogs, and during that time, he developed into a good pass protector. His 6-foot-5, 318-pound frame is the ideal size for a guard.

William & Mary offensive tackle Charles Grant

Not many offensive linemen can move the way Grant does. At 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, his movement skills are reminiscent of an athletic tight end. That could be one of the reasons the Eagles are bringing in Grant for a 30 visit, according to Justin Melo of The Draft Network.

In 2024, Grant graded as the second best offensive tackle in college football, per Pro Football Focus. For small school players to get drafted in the first three rounds, they have to dominate their competition — and that’s what Grant did. He’s now expected to be taken in the second or third round.

Grant will need to get bigger to hold his own against NFL edge rushers. But the Eagles don’t have an immediate need at tackle, so he could sit for a few years and develop into right tackle Lane Johnson’s successor.

UCLA edge rusher Oluwafemi Oladejo

Oladejo, a 6-foot-3, 259-pound pass rusher, will take a 30 visit with the Eagles, according to the Draft Network. Late in the third round, the Eagles could target Oladejo, who might need a year or two of development before he makes a significant impact. He has a few pass rush moves, including a spin move, but he’s not a finished product.

Ohio State offensive guard Donovan Jackson

Jackson, who could be one of the best offensive linemen on the board when the Eagles pick at No. 32, has a 30 visit scheduled with the Eagles, according to NFL draft analyst Tony Pauline. His draft stock improved this past fall when he switched over to left tackle to replace an injured Josh Simmons, who is also a projected first-round pick, and locked down some of college football’s best pass rushers at a new position. The Eagles could start Jackson at right guard and use him as their swing tackle. At 6-foot-4, 320 pounds, Jackson plays with better technique than power.

Pro Football Focus ranked him 125th out of 643 tackles last season.

Miami (FL) edge rusher Tyler Baron

Baron has a 30 visit scheduled with the Eagles, according to Pauline. He has good size (6-foot-5, 258 pounds), arm length (33 1/8’‘) and was very productive the last two years, amassing 11.5 total sacks. He is a versatile player, who can kick inside on passing downs and beat guards with quick moves. He played four years at Tennessee before transferring to Miami (FL) last spring.

SMU edge rusher Elijah Roberts

Roberts will take a 30 visit with the Eagles, per Cowboys beat reporter Joseph Hoyt.

Philadelphia could target Roberts, who is a powerful, 6-foot-4, 285-pound edge rusher, in the third or fourth round. Roberts’ ability to set the edge and move inside on passing downs is a skill set the Eagles covet.

Former Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham would line up as a three-technique defensive tackle on some passing downs, and Roberts could be asked to do the same thing.

Roberts lacks elite athleticism and bend, so he probably won’t be a dynamic, No. 1 edge rusher for an NFL team, but he could be a solid rotational option.

Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston

The Eagles spent their top-two picks in last year’s draft on Mitchell and DeJean, who both played well at cornerback for Philadelphia’s championship defense.

It seems unlikely that Roseman would draft another CB in the first two rounds this year. But if the Eagles don’t want to move DeJean from the slot and don’t feel comfortable with Kelee Ringo replacing Darius Slay on the outside, perhaps Roseman will draft Slay’s replacement with a premium pick.

Hairston, who ran a 4.28 40-yard dash at the combine, took a visit with the Eagles, according to his Instagram story.

In Philadelphia’s zone-heavy scheme, he could thrive because he has elite ball skills and good instincts. After trading away safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who led the team with six interceptions last season, the Eagles need someone to replace his production — and Hairston has the talent to do it.

Hairston amassed five interceptions during his sophomore season (2023) with the Wildcats, but he was unable to replicate that production last season because he only played in five games due to a shoulder injury.

Oregon offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr.

With the Eagles agreeing to a one-year extension with Lane Johnson through 2027, drafting an offensive tackle in the first two rounds became less of a need.

But the Eagles always like to future-proof important positions, so it would not be surprising if they drafted Johnson’s heir apparent with the No. 32 pick or at No. 64.

Conerly Jr., who has a 30 visit scheduled with the Eagles, per The Oregonian’s James Crepea, could be one of the best players available when Philadelphia picks in the first round.

A two-year starter at left tackle for the Ducks, Conerly would move to right tackle or right guard if he were selected by the Eagles. The 21-year-old has good size (6-5, 311 pounds) and athleticism, which should help him translate to the NFL.

Purdue offensive tackle Marcus Mbow

Mbow, who took a 30 visit with the Eagles, according to an Instagram story, will likely move to guard or center in the NFL because his 32-inch arms are too short, and he only weighs 303 pounds. While Mbow does struggle in pass protection, he’s worth taking in the second round because it’s tough to find players who can get to the second-level of a defense like Mbow can.

After a few years of being in an NFL weight room, Mbow might improve in pass protection, too. He would battle Eagles’ third-year guard Tyler Steen for a starting job.

NC State offensive tackle Anthony Belton

Belton, who told The Philadelphia Inquirer at the combine that he had a 30 visit scheduled with the Eagles, is a 6-foot-6, 336-pound mauler with tackle and guard flexibility. He’s currently projected to be a late, third-round pick.

Iowa State offensive tackle Jalen Travis

On Day 3, the Eagles could target Travis, who is a massive, 6-foot-8, 339-pound offensive lineman. Travis visited with the Eagles on March 20, per PHLY’S Zach Berman.

Boston College edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku

Ezeiruaku, a projected first-round pick, has a 30 visit with the Eagles, per 94 WIP’s Elliot Shorr-Parks.

During his final season at Boston College in 2024, he amassed 16.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Ezeiruaku has great physical tools, including 34-inch arms.

Texas running back Jaydon Blue

Even after signing AJ Dillon in free agency and drafting Will Shipley last year, the Eagles could still draft a backup running back in April. They need a reliable option behind Saquon Barkley, who might get less carries next season to preserve his body.

According to ESPN, Philadelphia has a visit scheduled with Blue, who is one of the best home run threats in the class.

Blue amassed 730 rushing yards and eight touchdowns during his final season (2024) with the Longhorns, and he caught 42 passes for 368 yards and six touchdowns.
