Former Bulldogs Tight End Brock Bowers skips Raiders camp for reason no NFL fan saw coming

Posted on May 5, 2025

Ex-Georgia football tight end Brock Bowers just completed one of the most outstanding (if not the absolute best) rookie tight end seasons in NFL history. Due to his electrifying season, there is considerable excitement about him not only within the Las Vegas Raiders organization but throughout the entire NFL too.

Bowers’ aspiration now is to leverage his remarkable rookie season and further demonstrate in 2025 why he is the top tight end in the NFL. This implies he must have a successful offseason to place himself in that situation.

However, it has recently been reported that he chose to forgo an optional offseason program with the Raiders. This might appear to be a dubious choice for anyone, yet his justification for missing is among the best available.

Brock Bowers continues to work towards his degree

Bowers is one of those players that perfectly defines what it means to be a Bulldog, and that is the case both on and off the football field. Another prime example of this is shared in the above post as Bowers is back in Athens taking classes to finish his finance degree instead of working out with the Raiders this offseason.

Knowing Bowers, he surely is doing his own workouts in Athens while taking classes, so there’s no need to worry about him falling behind on the football field.

Bowers is already going down as one of the greatest Bulldogs of all time for so many reasons, but the one thing missing is his degree. It appears however that this is a top priority for him now, and once he finishes his degree that will only add to the legacy that he is leaving in Athens.
