Posted on April 19, 2025

The Chicago Cubs have Land another minor league contract, which includes an invitation to major league spring training, the team announced on Friday.

Keller, 29, pitched for the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox in 2024, posting a 0-4 record with a 5.44 ERA in 16 appearances, including two starts.

Keller made his big league debut with the Kansas City Royals in 2018 and spent his first six seasons with the team. Over his career, he has a 38-57 record with a 4.34 ERA in 166 games, including 116 starts.

Keller is one of several non-roster invitees to Cubs spring training, joining catcher Reese McGuire and right-hander Trevor Richards.

In another move on Friday, the Cubs traded infielder Luis Vázquez to the Baltimore Orioles for cash. Vázquez had been designated for assignment earlier in the week.

Luis Vázquez, the 25-year-old infielder, made his major league debut with the Chicago Cubs in May. Over the course of 11 games, he batted 1-for-12 and scored twice. Following his limited time with the Cubs, he was traded to the Baltimore Orioles for cash.
