Indianapolis Colts Linked to Huge Move for $15 Million Star Free Agent

Posted on May 8, 2025

Heading into the NFL offseason, the Indianapolis Colts know that they have a lot of work to do. They suffered through an incredibly frustrating 2024 season that showed many different weaknesses.

Chris Ballard is seemingly interested in bringing in a new starting quarterback. He will let Anthony Richardson compete for the job, but he wants to bring in a player who could legitimately end up putting the young quarterback on the bench.

Another area of need will be to improve the pass rush.

Right now, the Colts have Laiatu Latu and Kwity Paye as their primary pass rushers. Dayo Odeyingbo is a free agent and many believe that he will end up signing elsewhere.

With that being said, Indianapolis is being linked to a very intriguing name in free agency.

Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports has named the Colts as one of the top potential free agency fits for New York Giants’ free agent Azeez Ojulari.

At 24 years old, there is no question that Ojulari has the talent and potential to become something special. He has shown the ability to be an impact piece and was having a good 2024 season before going down with injury.

In 11 games, he racked up 28 tackles, six sacks, and a fumble recovery. Those numbers aren’t elite, but they do show promise for the future.

Spotrac has projected Ojulari to have a solid market value. However, his value is not going to break the bank for whoever ends up signing him. They have his market value placed at a two-year deal worth just over $15 million.

Expect to see the Colts look to be aggressive this offseason. Indianapolis has some room for improvement on the pass rushing side of things and Ojulari could end up being an ideal fit for the team.
