There is no affection between the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts, two teams that could be contending for AFC South dominance next season.
The Texans have claimed two consecutive division championships, and in 2023, they needed to defeat the Colts in Week 18 in a game that determined who would win the title.
Next year, Houston and Indianapolis will meet again in the season finale, and new Colts safety Camryn Bynum has already told the Texans that this game could end up being for everything.
“And it’s clever to schedule it for [Week] 18 since they realize that’s the match that will determine everything,” Byrum stated on the Up & Adams Show.
In March, Indianapolis inked a four-year, $60 million deal with Bynum to strengthen a secondary that had significant difficulties in 2024. The Colts have also signed cornerback Charvarius Ward, making considerable progress in enhancing their secondary.
Bynum began his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, spending his initial four seasons there, which left him quite unfamiliar with the Texans-Colts rivalry, as he played in another conference. Nonetheless, he has now evidently gotten to know the rivalry between the two parties.
The 26-year-old accumulated 96 tackles, three interceptions, and 10 passes defended in his last season with Minnesota and has been one of the more overlooked defenders in the league for a considerable time.
Indianapolis has certainly enhanced their team this offseason, so Houston must be prepared for the challenge, especially given that Bynum is clearly ready.
