The injury occurred during a first-inning slide into second base, after which Tucker remained in the game for two more at-bats, including a ground-rule double, before leaving in the fifth inning.
X-rays were negative, and the team considers him day-to-day, with hopes that the scheduled off day on Monday will aid in his recovery.
Tucker’s early departure was precautionary, influenced by the Cubs’ lead in the game.
