Justin Fields Ignites Bears’ Comeback, Clinches Thrilling Victory Over Packers to Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

Posted on May 5, 2025

CHICAGO – In a game that will be remembered for years, Justin Fields put the Chicago Bears on his back and delivered one of the most electric performances of his young career, leading the Bears to a dramatic 27-24 comeback victory over the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field on Sunday.

Down 17-3 in the second quarter, many fans had started bracing for another bitter loss to their oldest rival. But Fields had other plans. The third-year quarterback threw for two touchdowns and ran in another, showcasing the dual-threat brilliance that made him a first-round pick. With the crowd on its feet, Fields led a 75-yard game-winning drive in the final minutes, capped by a 12-yard strike to Darnell Mooney in the end zone.

“This one means everything,” Fields said after the game, surrounded by teammates. “It’s always personal against Green Bay. We weren’t going to let this one slip.”

The win doesn’t just avenge an earlier-season loss — it keeps Chicago’s playoff hopes very much alive. At 7-6, the Bears are firmly in the NFC Wild Card race with momentum on their side.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus praised his quarterback’s growth: “That was leadership, toughness, and belief on display. Fields proved tonight he’s our guy.”

On the defensive side, rookie cornerback Tyrique Stevenson came up big with a late interception that sealed the win, sending fans into a frenzy.

Social media exploded following the victory, with Bears fans celebrating the triumph and praising Fields’ clutch performance. “This is OUR quarterback,” one fan tweeted. Another posted, “Packers rivalry just got personal again — and I love it.”

With three games left, the Bears are surging at just the right time. And if Fields keeps playing like this, Chicago might not just sneak into the playoffs — they could make some serious noise once they’re there.
